Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026: the general election, with federal, state, and Polk County offices on the ballot. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Every Johnston precinct gets the same statehouse and county races: Iowa House District 43, no Iowa Senate race, and no county supervisor race. Early voting is at the Johnston Public Library Wed Oct 21 to Sat Oct 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

When is the 2026 election in Johnston?

The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early in-person and mailed voting begin October 14, 2026, and the Johnston Public Library is an early-voting site Wednesday, October 21 through Saturday, October 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What is on the Johnston ballot?

The same partisan races in every Johnston precinct: U.S. Senate (open), IA-03 U.S. House, governor (open) and five other statewide offices, Iowa House District 43 (open), and Polk County Attorney, Treasurer and Recorder, plus nonpartisan county boards, judicial retention and Constitutional Amendment 1.
